St Hilda’s Kindergarten is the earliest registered kindergarten in Singapore that still exists today. Although it was registered on 29 August 1949, it has been serving the community since the 1930s on Ceylon Road. Then, it provided free books, uniforms, and lessons to children from poor families in Katong. St Hilda’s Kindergarten still believes in providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where children develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. Its programmes also support the relationship between children and their families and kindergarten staff.
