Arch-Armour-of-God

Ten years ago we started this website for the church. For a time it adequately served our needs as an electronic notice board of what we did and what was up-coming.

Late last year, we asked ourselves: If the digital world could be better harnessed as an electronic bridge to connect and reach out to our members and visitors in Singapore and around the world, what would we do?

A more dynamic website was the answer. So, here we are, an almost spanking new website, trusting the Lord will provide us the resources and passion to carry on.

St Hilda’s Church has been a landmark in Katong. In fact, we will be celebrating our 80th Anniversary later this year on Sunday, November 16, 2014, on the eve of our actual birthday on November 17.

We have already started our celebrations with a series of events and programmes.

On February 15, I was inducted as Vicar of St Hilda’s Church. We capped it by planting two olive trees that the Lord gave us. We invited Bishop Rennis Ponniah and a cross section of our church members to plant them.

And we commenced our Church Camp in Melaka on Pentecost Sunday, June 8. We took the opportunity to launch our refreshed website during this Church camp!

Through the rest of the year, we will be having events and programmes to help raise funds for St Hilda’s.

We are starting a fund for an extended church building. Another for our neighbourhood and overseas missions, and a third fund for new scholarships that will prayerfully inspire further commitment to pastoral work among our Church members.

We will also raise funds for our continuing outreach to Singapore’s elderly, needy and disadvantaged who live primarily in the Tanjong Rhu neighbourhood. We have established a presence there for more than ten years.

We welcome all to worship with us at our Services in St Hilda’s Church. We have three English Services, a Mandarin Service and a Hokkien dialect Service. We have ministries for children from infants to Primary school children during the Services. On Sunday afternoons, we have a children’s programme called Victory Kids where children come to have fun listening to stories, singing and playing games that help to build character.

As a worshipping community, we are a family-oriented church that believes in God’s love for all. We believe that all can find peace and joy in God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

We also believe that we have been called to become a Beacon of Faith, Hope and Love in our Community.

We invite you to look at our various ministries and welcome any queries you may have by calling us or emailing us. Come and worship and fellowship with us! Come and experience the love of God in a real way!
