PRAYERS

The Collect for 3rd Sunday after Trinity Sunday

Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts whereby we call you Father. Give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that all mankind may be brought to the glorious liberty of the sons of God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for this week:
Church
  • Pray for Archbishop Titus Chung, our clergy, diocesan leaders and all who serve across the Diocese and Province, that they may lead with Godly wisdom, courage and humility in this season.
  • Pray for the Anglican Learning Festival taking place in September, that it will be a joyful and fruitful gathering for reflection, equipping and transformation. May the plenary sessions and workshops be yet another avenue to glorify our Lord and be guided in our service to Him.
  • Uphold all theological educators, chaplains, cell group leaders and lay leaders across our parishes. Pray that they may teach sound doctrine and nurture Christ-centred discipleship.
World
  • Pray that the peace agreement between Iran and the USA will become the foundation for a lasting and enduring peace. May all hostilities cease and may leaders pursue dialogue over destruction.
  • Remember all who are displaced, injured and grieving because of ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar and other parts of the world. Pray for humanitarian aid to reach those in need, and for civilians and children to be protected.
  • Pray for wisdom and moral clarity among world leaders, that they will not act out of pride, malice or self-interest, but seek justice, mercy and peace for their people.
  • Pray that the World Cup will create opportunities for peace and goodwill through sport. May it foster mutual respect between nations and remind the world of our shared humanity.
Singapore
  • Lift up our President, Prime Minister, Cabinet and national leaders, that they may be guided by Godly wisdom, integrity and compassion as they steward Singapore through complex global challenges and seek opportunities for our nation to thrive.
  • Pray for Singaporeans who have been retrenched or are facing difficulty finding good jobs. May they find timely support, suitable opportunities and renewed hope in this season.
  • Pray for discernment in national issues such as the use of AI, stewardship of our national resources, and the shaping of a society that supports families, children and the vulnerable.
St Hilda’s Church
  • Pray for our clergy, Vicar Martin, Rev. Calvin and Rev King, and all staff of our church, that the Lord will grant them health, wisdom and strength as they shepherd our congregations.
  • Pray especially for Vicar Martin’s sabbatical from July to September. May this be a blessed time of rest and contemplation. Pray that he returns refreshed and renewed for the season of service the Lord has called him to.
  • We also pray for members going on the medical mission to Svay Prahout in Cambodia in July. May the Lord watch over their safety, health and preparations, and bless their work so that many may receive care and experience the love of Christ.
  • Pray for all ministries, volunteers and members of St Hilda’s Church, that we may continue to serve faithfully, grow in unity and love, and be grounded in Scripture.
  • We continue to pray for those who are unwell or suffering in body, mind and spirit. May our Lord reassure them with His presence, healing and peace.
