Prayers

The Collect for 17th Sunday after Trinity
Almighty God, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you. Teach us to offer ourselves to your service, that here we may have your peace, and in the world to come may see you face to face, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayers for this week:
Diocese of Singapore
- Pray for Abp. Titus for his leadership in the Province of the Anglican Church in South East Asia; his guidance in the commitment to fervent prayer for God’s truth and purpose to ultimately prevail in the Anglican Communion.
- Pray for The Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches to shine forth His light in a time of darkness. Let’s press on in prayer for the Church of England and the See of Canterbury as the Rt Revd Dame Sarah Mullally takes on the office of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury.
- We rejoice in the Institution & Induction of Ven. Wong Tak Meng as Vicar of St. John’s-St. Margaret’s Church on Sunday, 12 Oct. May he see the Hand of God at work in the parish, his family and in his personal life as he takes on this office. We pray for deep encounters with the Lord in his spiritual life spurring him on in vigor, zeal and passion for the Kingdom of God.
World
- Pray that the truce in the Middle East will hold, that finally all hostages will be released and that a comprehensive peace plan will be agreed.
- Pray for the Ukraine and Russia and the various civil wars in Africa and Asia, even Myanmar. May the grip of violence and murderous mind-set be broken in these regions.
Singapore
- Pray for God’s favour and fruitfulness as PM Wong and his ministers travel around the world to meet leaders of various countries.
- We pray for key strategic issues around security and free trade to be aligned between Singapore and many nations, strengthening each other to thrive in economy and continue to enjoy peace in this region.
St Hilda’s Church
- We pray for our clergy, Vicar Martin, Rev Hong En, Rev Calvin and all staff of St Hilda’s Church; that God may always watch over them and their families and grant them wisdom, courage, and enthusiasm to fulfil His calling. May they constantly be refreshed by the Holy Spirit and be lifted up in mind, body and spirit as they carry out God’s work faithfully and tirelessly.
- Pray for the ministry of The Meeting Place that it will be an avenue for seniors to find friendship and encouragement in the faith. We pray for wisdom, courage and favour as our seniors reach out to pre-believing peers among their families, relatives, friends and in their neighbourhood.
- TWe continue to pray for all who are unwell, homebound or grieving; may they experience the loving kindness and comfort of the Lord, bringing a breakthrough in their situations.
