Today's Message

Father God, let me not forget You in my immersion with the world. It is so easy to forget You, Father, because we get carried away in a world of our own. Forgive me, Father, for my forgetfulness. May it be always that I put You first in my life. From the first wink of light to the time when darkness falls. Let Your strength make light of the weight of day which threatens to drain me of my strength. May Your Spirit be always in me that I become a beacon of Your everlasting love. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Teaching Series on the Book of Jeremiah by Bishop Rennis Ponniah

April 2018

The Old Testament book of Jeremiah is a 2,500-year-old prophecy that is as relevant to our life today as it was to the Jews at the time.

It is message from and about God who works out his purposes through covenants.

Though more than 500 years before Christ, Jeremiah knew about the arrival of the New Covenant in Jesus that would change everything. The Jews in Jeremiah’s time were either longing for the Messiah to come or, the majority had given up hope and forsaken their God.

But God had not forsaken them.

In the same way, Christians all over the world look forward to Jesus’ second coming but most people in the world couldn’t care less. Jeremiah’s prophecy gives us great encouragement to live faithfully in a world that is in turmoil.

Bishop Rennis spent part of his sabbatical in 2016 to study Jeremiah at a deeper level. God powerfully spoke to Bp Rennis and he now passes the message on to the church in 10 sessions, delivered in five lectures at St Hilda’s Church.

Trust And Obey, A Journey Deep and Wide

12 May 2019

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. – Psalms 27:14

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. – Psalms 28:7

More than 10 years ago, I read the Prayer of Jabez (1 Ch 4:10). I prayed the same prayer by Jabez and my life changed.

Bible Study Foundation (BSF) developed my love for God’s words. I grew on it spiritually, supplemented by the excellent and profound works of authors like Timothy Keller, Henri Nouwen, Peter Scazzero, John Stott and many others.

After completing BSF, the Lord impressed upon to pick up my pen and journal my thoughts and learning with the help of our greatest author and His Word.

While reading and reflecting on the story of Joseph, I developed 5 “Ps” – Power, Purpose, Peace, Presence, and Perspective.

Joseph experienced God’s intervening Power; he obeyed and waited, trusting that God had a Purpose for him. While in jail, he received Peace, obviously even though conditions were harsh. God’s Presence must have been revealed to him. And in interpreting the Pharoah’s dreams, obeying God, and seeing things from God’s Perspective, Joseph played a key role in fulfilling God’s plan for His people.

My journey over the past decade with the Lord has been one that enabled me to add more Powerful Ps to my list.
